RMS Mauretania is my eleventh kit from Histobrick. The first one was the second version of SS Edmund Fitzgerald. There’s a steady progress of shape accuracy and building techniques with every new kit. Mauretania compared to Lusitania, although virtually almost identical ships, looks so much sleeker. She doesn’t have that waterline split anymore, a funny detail of older kits, which shows you a simplified version of boiler rooms and turbines, but the overall look is just better. Even omitting lifeboats turned out to be a good idea. Not my last kit definitely.

I was so excited to see that Histobricks developed R.M.S Mauritania kit as it is one of my favorite ships. If this is your first model remember to be patient and diligent while taking your time to read instructions and tips included in the instruction manual. I have built many models and I’m in 5th grade.

I was super excited about this set and it was delightful. This build perfectly captures the unique shape of Cunard’s first turbine liner in all her glory, her livery designed to match the colors she wore on her fateful final voyage in 1915. Instructions are well written and easy to follow, the bamboo box looks great and makes for a fine display stand afterwards. Printed parts are numerous and add nicely to her detail, from the printed bridge windows to the nameplates on her bow. The model itself is very sturdy and well designed, the upper hull being able to be removed from the lower waterline portion to reveal a complete set of boilers with printed details and her four turbine engines. Upper deck details are numerous and accurate, from the ventilators to the cargo handling cranes. In all, this ship is a fine addition to the Histobrick family and I highly recommend it for anyone with an interest in classic ocean liners.

Everything about the HistoBrick experiences I have had has been outstanding! The ships I've bought and assembled (HMHS Britannic, The SS Edmund Fitzgerald, and the Enterprise) have all been great, enjoyable builds that look fantastic with my other Lego sets and builds!! Also, the aircraft squadrons that goes on the Enterprise look simply amazing at such a small scale. I'll be purchasing more ship builds from HistoBrick in the near future!!!

HistoBrick is a bit of a dream come true for me since I loved building ships, mostly the Titanic, out of Lego when I was younger. The Mauretania is one of my favorite ships, and this model was incredibly well-thought out with how the sheer and bilge keel was accomplished, gaps filled in when feasible, and the utilization of certain parts. The only change I really think should be made is to replace the light gray parts representing the bridges and forward superstructure, though I’m sure this was due to them being unavailable in white. You probably have to squint at the forward superstructure to make you think “Mauretania,” which the Lusitania model had no troubles with, but you can only do so much at such a scale and the attempt to differentiate it from Lusitania’s (as it should be) and adding more detail is deserving of praise, just like the model as a whole. Probably one of, if not the most intricately designed Lego product I’ve ever built, which signifies Thomas’ experiences and experimentation with his builds. Highly recommended!!

This is a really detailed model and is definitely the right set for histobrick begginers. I don’t recommend you play with it as an actual Lego set due to how easily some parts can detach. I liked every single second I spent building this, and I’m looking forward to the RMS Carpathia

The Mauretania is the second model I’ve purchased from Histobrick and I love it. I particularly like the way that the superstructure looks on this one. The model features a somewhat unique bow which some people have expressed discontent with, I however think it looks excellent in person. It’s also been noted by others that the bridge section of the model is not a perfect 1:1 with the actual Mauretania, but I’d say it’s close enough for the scale they’re going for. My only major criticism of the model is that stern section doesn’t seem to fit together properly, leaving a few gaps. This doesn’t bother me much though, since it’s something that goes largely unnoticed once it’s viewed on a shelf from a distance. Overall, I’d thoroughly recommend this model, it really does do justice to the ol’ speed champion!

The Queen Mary is the third model I’ve purchased from Histobrick and I continue to be impressed by the level of detail that they are able to put into these models. The bridge section on this model is practically perfect. The Queen Mary is a long build (roughly 3-4 hours) but the finished product is worth it.

This is my first set from HistoBrick and it’s absolutely a win-win. Though there were some missing parts but I got other pieces from different sets to patch the error up. Now I can finally start production of my Lego movie based on the Empress of Ireland!
